In vitro study | Eprosptan acts on human tissues (adrenal cortex, liver, cloned AT1 receptors) and rat tissues (such as mesenteric artery binding, adrenal cortex, glomeruli), inhibiting [ |
In vivo study | Eprosartan (3-10 mg/kg, administered via a duodenal or gastric tube) acts on conscious normotensive rats to produce a dose-dependent inhibition of the pressor response to angiotensin II. Eprosartan (10 mg/kg) sustained a 1.5-hour dose-dependent reduction in blood pressure and antihypertensive activity in renin-dependent hypertensive rats. Eprosartan (60 mg/kg/day, I. P.) was administered to rats for 18 weeks, corresponding to zero Mortality Rate (0 Mortality Rate of 20 rats), the control group of 20 mice from the 9th week Mortality Rate was 100%. Eprosartan (10 mg/kg) dose-dependently reduced mean arterial pressure in dogs without causing reflex tachycardia. Eprosartan (0.3 mg/kg) inhibited the pressor response induced by electrical stimulation of the spinal cord in the brain-spinal cord-destroying rats. Eprosartan inhibits amino acid-induced glomerular filtration in rats. Eprosartan (0.3 mg/kg I. v.) the pressor response induced by spinal cord stimulation in a manner similar to that observed for the peptide antagonist, SAR1,Ile 8 [angiotensin II], was inhibited by the destruction of the cerebral spinal cord in rats. Compared with other chemically different non-peptide angiotensin II receptor antagonists, Eprosartan can more effectively inhibit the activity of the sympathetic nervous system. |
